Taste
Soft, pleasant taste with a creamy texture and fruity dominant – apricot, pineapple, banana. Creaminess is well balanced by refreshing acidity. Floral undertones add sophistication to the aftertaste.
Aroma
The bouquet is clean and fresh, opening up to passion fruit, mango and apple, with hints of dried herbs. Subtle rose accents and herbal touches add depth and elegance.
Gastronomy
Ideal as an aperitif, goes well with Thai and Asian cuisine. Also goes well with chicken and turkey dishes in light or sweet and sour sauces, as well as steamed seafood and soft cheeses.
“Petirrojo” Reserva Chardonnay is a wine that embodies respect for nature and precision craftsmanship. The harvest was carried out under cover of night to preserve the freshness of the berries and the finesse of the varietal profile. The vines grow on northwest-facing slopes, on light, drained soils, where each grape receives maximum sunlight and coolness from the Pacific Ocean. Fermentation and aging (4-6 months) took place in stainless steel tanks, without the influence of oak, to preserve the sincerity of the taste and natural character.
The 2024 growing season was smooth and favourable: moderate temperatures, timely rainfall and the absence of climatic stress allowed for a harvest with an ideal balance of ripeness and acidity. The result is a wine that vividly and accurately reflects the style of the Colchagua Valley – lively, honest and open.
The Petirrojo line is named after the mischievous and hardworking inhabitant of Chilean vineyards – the robin, which, like a living symbol of the Colchagua Valley, flutters between the vines, helping the winegrowers in their daily work. Its natural lightness and inner energy inspired the winemakers to create a collection of wines that combine simplicity, purity and an authentic expression of the terroir.
