“Rossj-Bass” – a dry white wine, created from Chardonnay grapes. Bright, golden, with refreshing acidity and a delicious citrus flavor, the wine has good storage potential. Vineyards from which harvest to produce “Rossi-Bass”, are the property of the family and Gaia are located in the provinces of Serralunga and Barbaresco. The name of the wine is named after the youngest daughter of Angelo Gaja – Rossano (Russia), and “bass” is translated from the Piedmontese dialect means “low”, since the vineyards are located in the valley. Bird depicted on the label “Rossj-Bass”, – pheasants, which abound in the woods of Piedmont. Wine making process takes place as follows. After harvest, the berries are fermented in stainless steel tanks under constant temperature control at 16-18 ° C for 4 weeks. Malolactic fermentation is used, then the wine is kept once used barriques for 6-7 months.

Brand Gaja was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaia, the great-grandfather of the current owner Angelo Gaja, and for 5 generations, is owned by the family Gaia. To date, Gaja Winery owns vineyards with a total area of 250 hectares, located in the province of Tuscany and Piedmont. Angelo Gaja began its work in the family business in 1961, after completing their education in oenological Institute of Alba and the University of Montpellier (he later received a degree in economics from the University of Turin). Angelo has repeatedly visited France and inspired by modern and traditional techniques of French wine makers began to use the experience gained in the production of their own wines. His magnetism, charm and poetic reflections on the nature of the wine Angelo Gaja make one of the most respected and beloved figures in the wine industry in Italy. In 2011, the magazine «Wine Spectator» Angelo Gaja named one of the best winemakers in the history of Piedmont and Tuscany.
